Anrich Vets

Waiting area and Reception.

We have a large waiting area to accommodate all pets but most importantly it is big enough to fit cats and dogs in the same room but to be far enough apart that they are not stressed waiting to be seen.

The additional shelving has increased the amount of goods we can display and stock, thus improving the ability to produce the “one stop shop” service to our clients.

Remember, all the products you can buy at any pet shop are also available at Anrich, but at Anrich they are sold with qualified veterinary advice, free of charge.

We have introduced Onstream to our waiting area which will continually update and inform clients of produces and services available from Anrich.

X-ray Machine & Digital Developer

When we took over in January, the x ray machine was old and with wet developing, the images were often adequate but not always perfect to make perfect diagnoses. We immediately invested £15,000 and installed CR computerized developing which improves image quality and reduces variation in imaging.

However, it became obvious that that was only part f the problem. The x ray machine was under-performing and so in our efforts to improve our imaging further a £16,000 was spent on a new more powerful x ray machine. Another £3000 was spent on a dental x ray machine which has enhanced the ability to get fine detail images of the teeth and jaw. Add to that the Ultrasound machine and endoscope and there is no procedure we cannot perform to get to a diagnosis in Huddersfield.

This setup is linked to our MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanner in Wigan, meaning that in the Anrich Group we can do any imaging diagnostic procedure necessary. Pets requiring MRI will travel to Wigan (less than an hour away) for this. Through digital imaging, principal vet Richard Weston’s 30 years of knowledge and experience can be available to the clients and vets in Huddersfield, despite the fact that he may be in Wigan or even out of the country. Through internet technology, he can read x rays and MRI scans and advise the vets on the best course of case management, thus topping up their experience with his.

Getting the right images and interpreting them properly is paramount to good diagnosis and we have spared no expense in getting this side of our care right.

 In-House Laboratory

Upstairs we have our onsite laboratory which is essential in an efficient modern caring practice.

We have invested £14,000 in new laboratory equipment allowing us to perform biochemistry and haematology onsite. This means that every general anaesthetic will not be anaesthetised until we are certain it is safe to do so because the vet will know the state of the patients organs.

In the consulting room, we are able to do blood tests “while the client waits” thus speeding on the diagnosis allowing us to confirm or refute a tentative diagnosis at the time on the consultation.

Op Theatre and Prep Room.

When Anrich took over in January 2007, the operating thatre was one room. The pet was anaesthetized, clipped up, prepared and operated on all in the same environment. Dirty procedures such as dental scales and abscesses were also done on the same table in the same atmosphere. This runs the risk of cross infection.

In order to be inspected by the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) and be upgraded to Tier 2 status, this setup had to be changed. We have just invested £7000 splitting this room with a glass partition so that dirty procedures and sterile procedures are kept separate.

We have just been inspected and passed as a nurse Training Practice (TP) and just been granted Tier 2 status by the RCVS. The rigid inspection gives clients the assurance that not only do we do this nicely and compassionately in the front of house to the client, but “behind the scenes” you can be assured on a level of excellence also.

 Kennels

We have 15 Kennels that can facilitate all kinds of pets from a lovely little kitten to a cuddly St Bernard. The kennels are heated to a certain temperature and have the facility to heat an individual kennel if needed for a patient.Other Facilities include MRI Scanning
