About our practice: We are a tier 3 hospital and nurse training practice, and amongst our biggest asset, the team, we have a wide range of services and equipment that ensures that no two days are the same (www.anrichvets.co.uk). We also have a sister company called Northwest MRI & CT that offers an outpatient service to other vets in the northwest area, this has been in steep growth over the past couple of years and is a credit to the work the team have put into it (www.northwestmrict.co.uk). Finally, we have a swimming pool that we use post operatively in many cases.
Why does this role exist?Our receptionist role is quite simply to make sure that the client feels comfortable as soon as they contact us either as they call us or when they walk through the door. Whether it is a new puppy at the start of our relationship for vaccinations or an old grey whiskered friend for euthanasia, it is our job to ensure an efficient, sympathetic and caring experience. Our focus is the best outcome for the animal – not the cheapest outcome for the client or the quickest outcome for the vet. We want a receptionist that understands the whole picture, understands the range of treatments that best suits the animals needs and help the client understand the recommended next steps.
Overview of Position We are looking for a exceptional dynamic customer service focused individual with great communication skills to work within our team on our busy vets reception. A polite friendly emphatic manner is essential. Applicant must have a sympathetic and caring nature and be a good team player but also someone who can work independently as required. An eye for detail and the ability to multi task is essential as it is a very fast paced environment. This role involves a lot of computer work so applicant must have strong general computer skills. Must be very organised and a fast thinker. A great telephone manner is essential as this is a big part of the job role. Veterinary Receptionist experience preferred but not essential as training would be given to the right applicant. This is a very interesting and very varied position.

* Liaising with suppliers
* Communicating with vets, nurses and suppliers promptly and efficiently
* Maintaining front of house/Keeping reception and waiting areas stocked, clean and tidy
* Inputting accurate records and updating information
*Initiating and preparing promotions and special events
* Updating and monitoring face book
Hours of work
3pm-7pm Tuesday-Thursday in our Wigan Hospital
9am-6:30pm Friday in our Pemberton surgery
These times may vary and applicant needs to be flexible and able to cover some holidays.
